"Am I supposed to say no to a guy who wants to f*ck me?"
Krish rolled his eyes at her.
Usha didn't know why he was mad. It was a genuine enough question.
"You're unhinged, and we are finished." Krish closed the file containing the bill.
Usha sipped her margarita, watching him stand and leave. "Good luck." Those were his final words.
Now it was her turn to roll her eyes. Always the gentleman. It was boring. Everything was boring. Usha was sure that the surgeon who performed her appendectomy when she was eleven had also removed a part of her heart-the part that was used for caring, for loving.
Or maybe she was just a b*tch.

Usha didn't mean to break the table at the bar. She was just dancing on the tabletop when a crowd of men started banging on it. Hey, they couldn't blame her for being the life of the party, right?
Apparently, they could, because she was hauled into an office that reminded her of the principal's office back in school. The drinks were apparently kicking in because all kinds of colourful dots appeared in her vision. She perched her chin on her palms atop the table, following the dots.
"So, I'm made aware that you broke a table."
Usha traced a dot with her pointer finger.
"Hey!"
She was pulled out of her trance by fingers snapping in front of her face. Usha looked at the owner of the arm.
If she were any less drunk, she would've whistled.
He was hot.
And huge. His face was all sharp angles, and his eyes-holy hell. Were they green? Amber?
"I'm not getting my money back from you today, am I?"
He leaned closer, and Usha realised she had stood up and leaned forward to look into his eyes. Embarrassed, she sat down on the chair again.
"What is your name?"
He looked at her and sighed. Then he got up, and she really wanted to whistle because the cake he packed was mind-blowing.
She whistled, but it came out as her blowing raspberries.
She was distracted with that for a minute. Or for a while.
He placed a coffee mug in front of her on the table.
Then she giggled. Coffee and cake. That was hilarious.
She looked into the cup.
"Ew... black?"
"Oh, pardon me. What would you like to drink?"
"Caramel latte!" She beamed.
He gave her a grin. "Yeah? And what should I write on the cup?"
"Princess Penelope."
She beamed back.
Then his smile dropped.
Usha felt a wave of goosebumps rush up her arms.
"Drink."
That's all he said before crossing the table and taking his seat. The dangerous look on his face was gone. His civil mask was on again.
Usha picked up the coffee cup and took a sip, then gagged.
"Blegh."
"Let's try again. What is your name?"
"Princess Penelope," she said.
He let out a laugh.
"So who's gonna pay for that?"
Usha rolled her eyes. "How much is it? I'm loaded, you know."
"Really? Because the spoiled rich brat look never gave it away."
He raked his eyes over her outfit. It was a dust-grey tube dress, and she knew she looked hot in it.
"Had your fill?" she asked.
That always worked.
He leaned back in his chair, studying her.
"You clearly need someone to teach you a lesson."
Usha smiled.
"Are you volunteering?"
"No."
His eyes travelled over her face.
"I'm deciding whether you're worth the trouble."
Usha's smile faltered for half a second.
"You don't find me attractive?"
"I didn't say that."
"Then what's your problem?"
"Nothing."
His gaze settled on her face.
"I'm just deciding what to do with you."
Usha stared at him for a moment before the alcohol won out again.
"I do like a good BDSM sesh. Should I call you Daddy during?"
She stood up and planted her hands on the glass table like a predator.
Usha didn't let his bored look shake her.
"During?" he asked.
"During spanking, of course!"
Then he burst out laughing, which wasn't the reaction she was looking for.
Like, what was wrong with her? Was she losing her aura?
First, Krish, then this guy.
Usha frowned and pouted.
She stood straight, took out her credit card, kissed it, and slid it acro
ss the table.
"You can deduct from it whatever that table costs."
